The beaches ofOceanView Speaks.gif (538 bytes) Cumbuco are just 15 miles or so west of Fortaleza, and considered to still be in the metropolitan area. Be advised...you are in for a great day of fun! The combination of dunes and blue to jade waters of Cumbuco are hard to beat.
Cumbuco features some extraordinarily impressive sights. As in many places along the coast, dunes kiss the beach.  Some of your best memories will be riding the high dunes behind Cumbuco. While you are out exploring, you'll visit a couple of lakes, or lagoas, as they are called. In the distance, you'll see Banana Lake (with a mountain backdrop), which is where upscale Fortalezans retreat, and you'll visit
Lagoa do Parnamirim to see or possibly even participate in the sport of "esquibunda" or dune surfing. It's cracked, but it's fun. The whole place is a picture taker's paradise. At one vantage point, you'll see a lonely line of coconut trees marching off into the dunes until they disappear into the shimmering distance. It's awesome!  The background for the picture above faces another little oasis lake, Lagoa do Cristilinas.
Cumbuco is great. To top off your morning of dune fun, you'll have a chance to visit a really nice restaurant for lunch there too. Lunch on the oceanfront! You can't beat it!

Suggestions:
1. Visit our Gallery Page for more Cumbuco snap shots.
2. When  the dune buggy driver grins and asks if you want your ride with much emotion, be sure to tell him (um pouco) only a little emotion. Trust us on this one.
