The Beaches Of Northeast Brazil

Fortaleza, capital of Ceará, is a beautiful resort city of 2 million. No town gets more beach business in Brazil, except for the incomparable Rio de Janeiro. Fortaleza has several beaches in town. You'll want to do the city beach tour for sure! And there is MUCH more to Fortaleza than beaches. Much much more!

Cumbuco is only about 15 miles to the west of city center. It's almost still in Fortaleza. You will thrill to the fun you'll have on the beach, restaurants, and especially your dune buggy ride of a lifetime on the dunes behind town.

Lagoinha is about 80 miles or so out of town, and is a full day tour. You will enjoy the ride through the country to get there, and you'll be in awe of the view, once you arrive. It may be the most camera friendly beach in the world. You'll see!

Flexeiras is just above Lagoinha. The drive from Lagoinha to Flexeiras is stunningly beautiful. The town itself is a sleepy little fishing village. If you want to get off the path a bit, Flexeiras is just the place to visit. If you really want peace and quiet, you'll adore the hotel there.

Caponga and Iguape are relatively close to each other on the other side of Fortaleza, about 30 miles or so out of town. Again, the beaches are beautiful, convenient, and you'll also find great shopping for handmade lace there too.

Beach Park is the largest water park in South America. It makes a good side trip, especially if you have kids. There is more beauty per square foot in Beach Park than possibly anywhere else in the world. The beaches are beautiful too.

Morro Branco is the place you go for more and better pictures. Morro Branco is a good deal different from the west coast beaches. Here you will find the technicolor falesias, or cliffs. You have to put this tour on the agenda. Alongside, you'll also visit Praia das Fontes which literally means "beach of springs" and it truly is. The water is clear and cold and you can drink your fill. You'll also find good shopping and beautiful beaches here.

Canoa Quebrada is a legend in Brazil. It is the Mecca for Brazilians. You'll want to plan a day trip to find out why. It's at the far eastern end of our tour area, about 100 miles from Fortaleza.

Jericoacoara, along with Paradise Lake is the essence of romance in BrazilAmerica.com Country, Brazil. You will want to plan to spend extra time here. The people who can say they have been to Jeri are very fortunate indeed.

Ceará... The Golden Daughter of the Sun
     Generally speaking, the ocean off Ceará  is vari-colored from deep blue to azure green, and very gently slopes upward to a deep beach. Behind the beach is the rolling dunes, and behind that is the countryside, which goes from plantations to scrub countryside which is
green when it rains, and dry when it doesn't. Ceará is semi-arid, which means it doesn't get a lot of rain, and then mostly in January and February. 60 miles inland brings you to the lush green mountains which much resemble the American Smoky Mountains...with banana trees, of course. You will never tire of the view, which is magnificent.
